Acceptable Use Policy
Pribco LLC · addisonsdiary.com
IN ANY MEDICAL EMERGENCY — CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY.
---
Addison’s Diary is NOT monitored. Notifications may be delayed or may fail to deliver.
NEVER use this platform to request emergency assistance.
If someone’s life is at risk — call 911 FIRST. Always.
THIS PLATFORM IS NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE — IN ANY EMERGENCY, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY
If someone’s life is at risk right now, put down this app and call 911.
Do not send an SOS alert. Do not post a family message. Do not use any feature of this platform. Pick up the phone and call 911. Every second matters and this platform cannot help you in an emergency. Emergency services can.
The SOS Feature — What It Is and What It Is Not
The SOS feature exists to alert your family members that a situation needs their personal attention. It is not a medical alert system. It is not connected to 911, to any hospital, or to any emergency dispatcher. It must never be used as a substitute for calling 911 when a life is at risk.
No Feature of This Platform Is an Emergency Tool
- Family Messages cannot summon emergency help
- Direct Messages cannot summon emergency help
- The Care Journal cannot summon emergency help
- The “I’m OK” check-in, if missed, does not dispatch anyone to help
- Notifications are not guaranteed to deliver, and are never received by emergency services
EMERGENCY NUMBER — SAVE THIS NOW
---
United States: 911
If someone is in danger, call 911. Do not wait for a response from this platform.
After You Call Emergency Services
Once you have called 911 and help is on the way, you may then use the platform’s SOS or family messaging features to alert your family members. Emergency services first. Family notification second. Never the other way around.
Addison’s Diary is not an emergency service. It is not monitored. Notifications are not guaranteed. In any situation where a life may be at risk — stop, call 911, and get real help on the way.
PREAMBLE — GOVERNING DOCUMENTS, THIRD-PARTY SERVICES, AND SECURITY
Governing Documents
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is one of several legal instruments that govern your use of the Addison’s Diary platform. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by each of the following documents, all incorporated herein by reference:
- Terms of Use — governs your access, rights, obligations, prohibited conduct, account termination, and limitation of liability. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Use shall control except with respect to the specific provisions set forth herein.
- Privacy Policy — governs the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of your personal information, including operator access controls, data retention, and legal process disclosures.
- Platform Disclaimer — governs the medical, regulatory, and liability disclaimers applicable to your use of the Platform.
- HIPAA Notice and Health Data Policy — explains our HIPAA status, the health-related information we handle, our HIPAA-adjacent security practices, and your rights. Available at addisonsdiary.com/health-data.
- Cookie Policy — explains the cookies and tracking technologies used, their purposes, and how you can manage your preferences. Available at addisonsdiary.com/cookies.
- Data Deletion and User Rights Policy — governs the complete account closure lifecycle, deletion timelines, and your rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. Available at addisonsdiary.com.
In the event of any conflict between these documents, the order of precedence is: Terms of Use, Acceptable Use Policy, Data Deletion and User Rights Policy, HIPAA Notice and Health Data Policy, Privacy Policy, then Cookie Policy. Capitalized terms not otherwise defined have the meanings ascribed to them in the Terms of Use or Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Service Providers — Disclaimer of Liability
The Platform operates through Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure), Stripe Inc. (payment processing), Postmark/Wildbit LLC (transactional email), Twilio Inc. (SMS delivery), and app store distribution partners. On the public landing page, Pribco LLC also uses Meta (Facebook Pixel and Conversions API for advertising) and Google Analytics 4 (GA4), both of which are active on the public landing page. Google reCAPTCHA is not currently active but may be used in the future. These tools operate only on the public landing page before sign-up and never inside the authenticated app or on any page where health or care data is present. Each provider is contractually bound to protect your information solely to deliver the service. These disclosures are not sales or commercial sharing.
Pribco LLC expressly disclaims all liability for any loss, harm, damage, or failure caused by the acts, omissions, errors, negligence, system failures, outages, security incidents, or service interruptions of any third-party provider. Your use of the Platform is also subject to those providers’ own terms of service. Third-party providers who store your data may independently receive legal process directed at them, in which case Pribco LLC may have limited ability to provide notice on your behalf.
Security — Policy Reference and Disclaimer
Pribco LLC employs reasonable safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, two-factor authentication, strict per-family data isolation, IAM-enforced MFA break-glass role controls for operator access, and WORM Object Lock immutability for legal and consent records. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy (Section 5) and HIPAA Notice and Health Data Policy (Sections 4 and 5).
No security measure is perfect. Pribco LLC expressly disclaims all liability for any security incident, breach, or unauthorized access arising from: (i) vulnerabilities in third-party systems; (ii) circumstances beyond our reasonable control; (iii) your failure to maintain the security of your account credentials; or (iv) the inherent limitations of internet-based communications.
Your Information Is Yours — You Control Who Sees It
Pribco LLC does not access, review, use, share, sell, or process the personal or sensitive information you enter into the Platform except to the limited extent strictly necessary to operate and deliver the service, or as required by applicable law, valid legal process, or mandatory reporting obligations. Disclosures to service providers are made under strict contractual restrictions for service delivery only and are not commercial sharing. We do not read your care journals, review your documents, or monitor your family messages. Your information is never sold, licensed, or shared with advertisers, insurers, employers, healthcare systems, or any third party for their independent use.
Compliance with Law and Legal Process
Pribco LLC may be required to disclose your information when required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order, search warrant, or other enforceable legal mandate); when disclosure is necessary to prevent or investigate a crime or protect the safety of any person; or pursuant to mandatory reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A (CSAM reporting to NCMEC). Where permitted by law, we will notify you upon receipt of legal process and will disclose only the minimum information required.
1. Scope and Purpose of This Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs all use of the Addison’s Diary platform (“Platform”), operated by Pribco LLC, a Georgia limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It applies to every person who accesses or uses the Platform. The Service is intended for U.S. residents only. Users outside the United States access the Platform at their own risk and are solely responsible for compliance with their local laws.
This AUP is incorporated into and must be read together with the Addison’s Diary Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Platform Disclaimer, HIPAA Notice and Health Data Policy, Cookie Policy, and Data Deletion and User Rights Policy — all available at addisonsdiary.com. By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this AUP. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
Violations of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of access, removal of content, and reporting to appropriate authorities, including a pro-rata refund of unearned monthly fees as set forth in the Terms of Use.

5. Prohibited Uses: All the following are prohibited uses under these terms of usage
5.1 Medical and Clinical Use

5.2 Emergency Situations
This platform is not an emergency service and is not monitored.

The SOS feature is designed to notify personal family members of situations that need family attention. It is not connected to emergency services. It is not monitored. Delivery is not guaranteed. It must never be used as a substitute for calling 911.
5.3 No Channel to Medical Providers
Addison’s Diary is not a tool, device, channel, or interface for communicating with, transmitting information to, or receiving information from any medical provider, healthcare system, hospital, clinic, pharmacy, hospice organization, home health agency, or any other licensed healthcare or clinical entity. 6. Termination, Suspension, and Refund Policy
Violations of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of your access to the Platform. Pribco LLC reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to immediately suspend or permanently terminate your access if we determine, or have reasonable cause to suspect, that your account involves fraudulent activity, illegal conduct, unauthorized use, or any activity that is harmful to other users, third parties, or the Platform itself, including any of the prohibited uses described in Section 5 of this AUP.
In the event of termination, Pribco LLC will issue a refund of any prepaid, unearned monthly subscription fees calculated on a pro-rata basis from the date of termination through the end of the then-current billing period. Pribco LLC reserves all rights to report violations involving illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities, including mandatory reporting to NCMEC for CSAM violations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A.
7. Medications — Critical Limitations
The medication tracking feature is an organizational reference tool for family coordination ONLY.
---
It is NOT a medication management, dispensing, or administration system.
It does NOT verify that medications are correct, safe, or appropriate for any patient.
It does NOT check for drug interactions, contraindications, or dosing errors.
It does NOT perform any clinical verification, analysis, or review of any kind.
It does NOT confirm that medications have been given correctly or at all.
Medication data shown is user-entered only — no clinical databases are used.
Log entries are made by family members — not verified by any clinician.
Always follow the instructions of the prescribing physician and pharmacist.
Never adjust, add, or discontinue a medication based on information in this platform.
For medication questions: contact the prescribing physician or pharmacist directly.
8. Notifications and Alerts — Delivery Not Guaranteed
Addison’s Diary sends notification emails and, for opted-in users, SMS text messages for SOS alerts, “I’m OK” wellness check-in notifications, and two-factor authentication (MFA) codes. These notifications are provided on a best-effort basis only.
Notifications may be delayed, may arrive out of order, or may fail to deliver entirely
due to email delivery systems, SMS carrier processing, network interruptions, device settings, or other technical factors beyond Pribco LLC’s control. Pribco LLC makes no guarantee of timely or reliable notification delivery and expressly disclaims all liability for any failure, delay, non-delivery, misdirection, or corruption of any SMS message or text notification. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply and are your sole responsibility. Notifications are sent according to your preferences. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (Section 8) for consent, frequency, opt-out, and data use information.
Never rely on this platform’s notification system for time-sensitive medical care.
If a medication must be given at a specific time and missing it could harm the patient, do not rely on this platform as the only safeguard. Use dedicated medical alarms, professional caregiver protocols, or clinical medication management services for any clinical requirement.
All SMS notifications — including SOS alerts and “I’m OK” wellness check-in notifications — are best-effort and are not a substitute for calling 911. Delivery may be delayed or fail entirely. This notice applies to every notification and alert configuration screen within the Platform.
For full details on operator access to your data, including the IAM-enforced MFA break-glass role framework, see Privacy Policy Section 5 (Operator Access to Your Data) and HIPAA Notice and Health Data Policy Section 5 at addisonsdiary.com/health-data.
9. The “I’m OK” Check-In Feature
The “I’m OK” feature allows a patient or independent senior to send a daily wellness signal to their chosen family recipients. It is a personal family communication feature only.
- It is NOT a medical alert, personal emergency response system (PERS), or falls detection system
- It is NOT monitored by Pribco LLC, any clinician, or any emergency service
- A missed check-in is a family notification only — not an emergency dispatch trigger
- If a family member does not receive an expected check-in, they should attempt to contact the patient directly and, if concerned for their safety, call 911
10. Document Vault
The Document Vault allows families to store personal documents — advance directives, powers of attorney, insurance cards, and similar records — for convenient family access. When using the vault:
- Store only documents you have the legal right to store and share
- Do not store documents in a manner that creates HIPAA obligations
- Do not upload information received from covered healthcare entities in a manner that would create HIPAA obligations
- Ensure stored documents are current and accurate — Addison’s Diary does not verify document validity
- Use the platform’s per-member permission controls to restrict access to sensitive documents appropriately
11. Account Administrator Responsibilities
The account administrator (“Admin”) bears primary responsibility for appropriate use of their family account. As Admin you are responsible for:
- Ensuring only permitted users are invited to and have access to the account
- Setting appropriate permission levels to protect sensitive personal and health-related information
- Ensuring all invited users understand and comply with this Acceptable Use Policy
- Promptly removing access from any user who should no longer have it
- Maintaining reasonable accuracy of information entered into the platform
- Ensuring the account is used only for its intended personal and family purpose
- Notifying Pribco LLC promptly of any unauthorized access or suspected security incident at support@addisonsdiary.com
11a. Email Communications
Addison’s Diary sends two categories of email: transactional and, where applicable, service communications.
Transactional Emails (Cannot Be Opted Out Of)
Transactional emails are essential to the service and are not subject to marketing opt-out. These include: account creation and invitation emails, two-factor authentication codes, password reset emails, SOS alert notifications, missed caregiver shift alerts, medication reminder alerts, account closure warning emails, courtesy account-access and complimentary-trial emails, and support ticket replies. These emails are sent via Postmark with DKIM verification to confirm authenticity and improve deliverability. Bounces and complaints are suppressed automatically.
Service and Notification Emails
Care-related notification emails can be configured per-family, per-category, and per-recipient in your account notification settings. You can adjust or disable individual notification categories from My Account at any time.
Marketing Emails
Addison’s Diary may send marketing emails to subscribers who opt in via the landing page email capture form in the future. Marketing emails will be sent only to people who have explicitly opted in and will always include an unsubscribe link. We do not share your email address with any third party for marketing purposes. For full details on marketing email data handling, see our Privacy Policy.
11b. Production Environment and Testing
Addison’s Diary currently operates a separate staging environment. Pribco LLC maintains strict controls to ensure that test activity does not affect, access, or interfere with live family accounts. If you experience any anomaly or unexpected behavior in your account, contact support@addisonsdiary.com immediately.
12. Compliance with Law and Legal Process
Notwithstanding any other provision of this AUP or the Privacy Policy, Pribco LLC may be required to disclose your information without prior notice or consent in the following circumstances:
- Legal Process: We will disclose information when required to do so by valid legal process, including a subpoena, court order, search warrant, civil investigative demand, or other enforceable legal mandate issued by a court or government authority of competent jurisdiction
- Law Enforcement: We may disclose information to law enforcement agencies where legally required, or where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent or investigate a crime or protect the safety of any person
- Mandatory Reporting: We are required by federal law to report to NCMEC any content that we discover or reasonably believe constitutes child sexual abuse material (CSAM) under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Compliance may involve disclosure of account information and content to NCMEC and subsequently to law enforcement
- Protection of Rights: We may disclose information as necessary to enforce these Terms, protect the rights, property, or safety of Pribco LLC, our users, or the public, or to defend against legal claims
Where permitted by law, it is our practice to notify you upon receipt of legal process so you have a reasonable opportunity to seek relief. We will disclose only the minimum information required. Third-party providers who store your data may independently receive legal process directed at them, in which case Pribco LLC may have limited ability to provide notice on your behalf. We will not be held liable and disclaim a duty to provide advance notice or notice within a set time period and you waive any duty on our part to do so.
13. State-Specific User Rights
